Born in India and matured in New York City, Prawns (Pranay Mehra) and Bajaj have been pursuing and sharing their passion for Electronica music since the late 90’s. As good friends growing up, both have an undying passion for music, in particular EDM and started honing their skills on the turntables. On moving to NYC, they started off at venues like Porch, Sin-Sin, Key Bar, Moomia, and progressed to regular gigs at top spots like Cielo and Sullivan Room. They've stayed sharp and on top of their game by sharing decks with some of the biggest artists like Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Jody Wisternoff, Josh Wink and more recently Frankie Knuckles to name a few.
In the New York City club scene, they are known for blending varied genres in their live sets. From nu-age disco to deep-tech house that keeps the crowds craving more. With affinities to varied EDM genres (Bajaj prefers melodic beats while Prawns is drawn to thicker bass lines) their sets prove to be a musical journey into the blend of each artists personalities and moods while still making them appealing to the clubber on the dance floor. They are also very versatile in the types of venues and parties where they've graced the decks - from boat parties, to beaches, to underground dance clubs to globally acclaimed nightclubs.
Drawing from global eclectic influences like Desyn Masiello, John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Lindstrom and Nick Warren, Prawns and Bajaj know their loyal listeners and leverage their long history together to create some of the most memorable nights the New York party scene has experienced.
